Our alliance with Clearwater Marine Aquarium is inspired by a shared passion for protecting marine life and the environment. As CMA’s preferred hotel partner, Winter the Dolphin’s Beach Club is focused on creating a delightful experience that inspires guests and the community to participate in this important mission.
Our hotel honors the legacy of the aquarium’s most famous resident, Winter the Dolphin, who was disentangled from a crab trap line in 2005, treated by CMA, and fitted with a prosthetic tail. Her inspiring story of resilience and perseverance has attracted world-wide attention and led visitors from around the world to support the aquarium and their ongoing marine life rescue and rehabilitation efforts. In addition to celebrating Winter’s life and impact and helping to further the aquarium’s research and rescue operations for other dolphins in need, our hotel also proudly supports CMA’s expanding initiatives, including manatee research, whale conservation and sea turtle protection.
Your Stay Matters
You’re advancing the aquarium’s vision and engaging in ecotourism simply by being our guest. In support of CMA, we charge a daily Conservation Resort Fee of $9.95 per guest room — 100% of which goes directly to helping fund the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of injured marine life, and to providing a permanent home for animals who cannot return to the wild because of injuries.
